Lake Como in Italy is known for its beautiful villas that look out over the lake. It's one of the best loved jet set locations for destination weddings. Not only for its natural beauty of the mountainous landscape and the cool tones of the lake, but also because of the historical landmark villa's from the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. They contain lavishly decorated ball rooms, antiques, handprinted ceilings and lush gardens. And they will surely sweep anyone, looking for a stunning wedding venue, right off their feet. Here is my list of the most sought after Lake como wedding venues.

Lake Como wedding venues for destination weddings

List of luxury Lake Como Wedding Venues

Villa Balbianello

This villa with otherworldly beauty is world-famous for its beautiful views over Lake Como, its stellar garden and iconic arches with columns enveloped by topiary greenery. Nevertheless, it's also got some fame for being the venue in which the wedding (although I really should say elopement) of Anakin and Padmé (in the 2000 film Star Wars Episode II) was filmed as well as the James Bond movie Casino Royale.

Villa Sola Cabiati

As if the beautiful French garden and stunning Lago di Como views weren't enough, Villa Sola Cabiati has the most stunning white, cream interiors and pastel coloured frescoes which are sure to set your heart aflutter if you love light and airy photos. I've shot at Villa Sola Cabiati in spring 2022, and I absolute loved this place!

Villa Balbiano

A stones-throw away from Villa Balbianello we find Villa Balbiano. This elegant pastel cream coloured 16th century villa is part of the Heritage collection nowadays. But a couple of centuries ago it was the main residence at an estate that included the earlier mentioned Villa Balbianello. Yes, you can image that if Balbianello is the little brother in this story, that it's big brother Villa Balbiano is at the very least just as amazing. With it's unparalleled mix of man-made and natural beauty, Villa Balbiano is one of the most glamorous locations on Lake Como.

Villa La Cassinella

Personally I'm not too keen on orange venues. But when it is surrounded by cypresses, has walls enveloped by ivy, lovely bright rooms and a beautiful garden it's hard to not love a villa.

Villa Andrea

Although Villa Andrea (part of Ville Ponti) technically isn't situated at Lake Como, it is still quite close to the lake though. And if you love pink villa's you'll probably happily overlook the fact that it's a 45 minute drive to Lake Como. Plus another lake, Lago di Varese is only a 15 minute drive away and the Lago di Lugano is 25 minutes away. So there's still plenty of opportunity to spent part of your wedding day/weekend on or near the water.
