I’m Renate van Dijk and I am a destination wedding photographer and the founder of Wit Photography. Although I was born in The Netherlands, I studied in England and often get asked where I'm from (as people hear an accent but do think English is my native language). I would love to photograph your wedding in Portugal because I am addicted to travelling but I love it even more when I photograph awesome couples at all kinds of beautiful places even more. I mean epic palaces, a gorgeous coastal town like Cascais or the Art Nouveau architecture in Porto are all swell and stuff but it’s not half as good as placing a loving and fun loving couple within that frame.
My (and the other wedding photographers who second and associate shoot for Wit Photography) photography style can be described as 90% photojournalistic (aka reportage style), in which I won't intervene or direct you and just let your special day unfold while we capture everything in the best way possible. But I always advise to built in a photo shoot for just you and your partner, so that we can guarantee you a couple of fine art portraits in which, you, the light and the surroundings look their best. This way you can be sure you'll have photos that show off that gorgeous location or venue you selected for your wedding day. And you'll some photos that you'll actually want to hang on a wall.

Getting married in Portugal
Besides Lisbon, Portugal has lots of amazing places to get married. Previously I photographed a bride and groom in the south of Portugal at a Palacio de Estoi near Faro in the Algarve, the many different venues that are part of The Ritz Penha Longa Resort near Lisbon, in Sintra and Cascais and at Monserrate Palace in Sintra I also got to shoot some amazing footage as a wedding photographer. Then of course there are the beautiful Art Nouveau buildings in Porto and Aveiro and the famous islands of Madeira and the Azores.
