Hannah & Simon's Story

Hannah and Simon tied the knot in maybe the most beautiful venue in The UK I've ever seen: Larmer Tree Gardens in Salisbury in Wiltshire. I had shot a wedding in Wiltshire a couple of years ago and I always love coming back to South-West England. I studied Musical Theatre Singing at Bath Spa Uni in a previous life and Bath and it's surrounding area will always have a special place in my heart. Actually, if it were up to me I'd move there in a heartbeat, but my boyfriend is a bit attached to his current job.

Back to Hannah and Simon's wedding! This beautiful summers day started off at King John's Inn, where the getting ready of stunning bride Hannah and her bridesmaids had started. If I wasn’t already, I definitely became a fan of this wedding when I saw Hannah’s wedding dress. Such a stunning gown! First of all, I love this type of sleeve/strap this dress has, it also has a gorgeous champagne, almost blush-like colour and the silhouette is stunning as well. But the thing I love most about her dress is the beautiful lace that is very different from other lacework that I've seen in wedding dresses. I find it looks very different to most lace pattern and it reminds me somewhat of an 1920s Art Deco pattern, which I love! Hannah bought it at Hannah Elizabeth Bridal, because she just had to go there because of the unique styles they carry but also you know because of the name of the boutique ;)

Little did I know that after this stunner of a dress I'd be happily surprised by the flawless style of bride Hannah again and again that day. Larmer Tree Gardens for one was an amazing surprise, I mean which self-declared theatre loving wedding photographer wouldn't love to shoot a wedding at a venue with a victorian open air singing theatre? Natural light on a beautiful stage, is a very rare occurance.
Larmer Tree Gardens is a Victorian English garden with several different buildings in different periodic styles. Hannah and Simon chose to have their ceremony at the little Roman temple. Live guitar music welcomed the guests while they entered the eclectic gardens.

A bride and groom at Larmer Tree Gardens

Shortly before dinner we had some time for a short photo shoot and of course the Victorian open air singing theatre couldn’t be skipped. After which, everyone took their seats at the beautifully decorated long dinning tables. I’m a big fan of eucalyptus so I was thrilled to see the table runners consisted of eucalyptus branches and white roses. Everything was beautifully decorated but with such elegance and style! During dinner the band was setting up their equipment and were doing a sound check. I myself studied music very close to Salisbury, namely in Bath. So it was awesome to shoot a wedding at which the band (at least some members of it) studied in the same place I did. Before the party really took off, the bride and groom cut the cake and danced their first dance under a ceiling filled with lights in a gorgeous colonial style building.
