If you're planning a luxurious and intimate destination Siena in Tuscany, you'll love this wedding for inspiration! Sabine and Hans got married last September in a fattoria, which is a wine yard and country estate in Tuscany. It was such a happy day and the sun shone at it's brightest!
The excitement before the wedding
Sabine got ready at the Fattoria with her mother, her daughter and her friends, and the atmosphere was so energetic. Sabine's friend did her hair and makeup before she slipped into her Rue de Seine gown. Originally she had bought a more traditional gown, but when she discovered Wild at Heart Bridal she knew something different would fit her way better. Hans got ready in another building at the Fattoria. He was joined by his parents. After a first look, we took off to the beautiful medieval town of Siena where we did a photo shoot as well as eat some gelato of course (the vendor even brought the bride and groom some complementary prosecco, so friendly!).
The al fresco ceremony
The ceremony was an intimate affair at a terrace overlooking the Tuscan landscape. During the ceremony a friend of the family talked about the couples lives. It was so beautiful and so personal.
The reception
The reception was out in the garden at the venue. They chose this fattoria because it was available during a weekend that I wasn't booked yet (yes, I was the 1st vendor the couple booked) and it has all these different places for different parts of the weekend. It was a beautifully styled destination wedding, which are my favourite. I love shooting destination weddings weddings because they're usually a but more intimate and the styling and flowers are dreamy. Couples who decide on an intimate destination wedding often only invite their favourite people, which makes the ambiance more relaxed. Combined with beautiful styling a destination wedding weekend feels like living in a modern fairy-tale. They had a cocktail drinks reception in the afternoon, and a scrumptious dinner in a tunnel of light in the evening. For dinner they served a sit down 5 course meal, which was loved by all the guests. The first dance was a romantic slow dance, after which the party could really start with a great DJ and a magnificent saxophone player who I'd actually already met a year earlier at a wedding in Le Marche.
My favourite part of the day was the short sunset photoshoot we did just before dinner, because the light was just perfect. Even though we just had about 15 minutes, it was so worth it to make use of this amazing circumstances. They also had a great trio of Italian musicians during the dinner – it was such a talented trio and it just complemented the ambiance perfectly.
The wedding attire
Sabine wore a beautiful gown with a boho feel and Hans wore a perfect suit with a dusty pink jacket and they looked so perfect. Sabine’s dress was an amazing dress from Wild at Heart Bridal consisting of a silk slip dress over-laid with a wrap around lace dress with trumpet sleeves and Hans’s tailored suit by Michael & Giso was in pastel perfect unison with the pink styling.
