Chilled out festival wedding at De Lievelinge

Simone and Steven got married this summer at the awesome Kampeerterrein De Lievelinge, which is a quirky campsite in The Netherlands. I loved being there as their Netherlands wedding photographer, as it was such a fun day and even the weather played ball!

The outdoor ceremony

The ceremony was a legal ceremony next to the epic spiegeltent of De Lievelinge. On the lovely square they placed white wooden chairs for all guests to sit on. During the ceremony they read their own vows. It was so much fun and so emotional. Although Steven’s ring wasn’t that cooperative when Simone put it on his finger.

After the ceremony

They chose Kampeerterrein De Lievelinge because it’s so cosy and relaxed and Simone spent a lot of her childhood near De Lievelinge. It was a festival wedding, which is the best way to have a laid back wedding in my opinion. I love shooting Camping De Lievelinge weddings because the photo ops are endless. Couples are very free in how they want to shape their wedding and as a bonus the food is really good!

They had a religious ceremony in the afternoon, and a dance party in the evening. They decorated the venue with fairy lights and bunting, because it’s so cosy.

For dinner they started with some anti-pasti, which was so yummy. They also had pizzas that were made fresh right before our eyes during the dinner.

The first dance was very funny, Simone told me afterwards, as Steven completely forgot the choreography but their choreography was pretty funny to begin so it might have become even funnier. The most fun part of the day was in between their legal and religious ceremony though, because we all went for a spin on a carousel – it was the first time I’ve seen that at a wedding!

The couples outfits

Simone wore a blush wedding gown and Steven wore a gorgeous suit that had a bit of a vintage vibe and they looked so dapper. Simone’s flowers were put together from flowers that each of the guests brought and Steven’s shoes were a perfect match to his suit. The flowers in Simone’s hair were a real eye-catcher and so beautifully arranged by MK Floral Design.

The couple says that if you’re planning your wedding, the biggest piece of advice they could give you is ‘don’t do too many formal group shots, we never use them!’.

Simone and Steven’s wedding was so laid back and had such a fun atmosphere. I loved shooting this wedding and now Kampeerterrein De Lievelinge is one of my favourite wedding venues in The Netherlands.
