I first met Jennifer at wedding fair Engaged and she told me about their olive grove wedding in Spain, I was so excited – because she and her husband-to-be Thijs were planning the most stylish yet intimate wedding with an outdoor ceremony, beautiful floral designs and an utterly stunning venue! Jennifer and Thijs got married in September at the incredibly versatile Castell d'Emporda, a beautifully renovated castle dating back as far as the 14th century, between Girona and Barcelona in Spain. They had their ceremony at an olive grove, which was the perfect setting. It was a gorgeous day and the sun shone all day long!
Bridal Prep
Jennifer got ready at the huge bridal suite at the resort with her mother, her sister and some of her best friends, and the atmosphere was full of excitement. The bride and her dad then walked the short distance to get to the ceremony in between the olive trees. Thijs got ready with his mates. After a swim, some champagne and putting on his suit he made the last alterations to his vows. The groom walked down the aisle with his mother.
The Vows
The ceremony was an intimate affair lead by 2 friends of the couple. It took place in the olive grove and was beautifully decorated by NIFlauers. During the ceremony their parents told the couples' life stories and Jennifer and Thijs wrote their own vows. It was the perfect way to create a ceremony that was heartfelt, emotional and so personal. And their friends who lead their ceremony made sure there were lots of moments of laughter too.
The Afternoon
They had drinks and canapes in the afternoon, and dinner and dancing in the evening. But before the dinner commenced we walked around the grounds of the beautiful castle for some portraits. They decorated the venue with my favourite kind of eucalyptus and beautifully white florals, because it brought a beautiful modern, stylish and minimalist look.
For dinner they sat everyone down at 2 long tables, which was decorated with minimalistic, stylish stationery and tablescape of eucalyptus white florals. The first dance was a romantic slow dance, and they finished off the evening with lots of dancing, laughter and drinks.
Their Outfits
Jennifer wore lace dress by Weddings Bridal and Thijs wore a beautiful dark blue suit from Michael & Giso and they looked so perfect. The bride's shoes were Steve Maddens and her earrings were the most gorgeous hidden fairy earrings by Laurie Fleming Jewellery.
