A very intimate, fuss free and gorgeous destination wedding in Italy with a pastel colour scheme and just twelve guests! (yes, you might call it an elopement or microwedding ;) )
Lara and Tommie got married in July in the beautiful Vidovina, an old country house in Ravenna in Italy. They had their ceremony at Il Cardello, which used to be a 19th century poet's house and is a museum nowadays. It was such a happy crowd and the sun shone all day long!
Bride and groom prep
Lara and Tommie got ready at Vidovina. Both had their moms with them, and the atmosphere was so relaxed. The group then drove down the hill to the ceremony. While waiting for the arrival of the bride, the guest in charge of the music started Nelly's 'Hot in Here'. Which was very funny because the sun was hitting us all hard in 35 degrees and the ceremony setting being in the full sunshine.
The serious part
The ceremony was a very short but sweet wedding on the lawn near the museum. During the ceremony the bride's father spoke as an introduction to their vows. It was a really fun, hot and short gathering. But very emotional nonetheless. They decorated the venue with lavender and eucalyptus, because of their pretty pastel colors and because they were dried they were perfect for travel to Italy.
The afternoon
They cut the cake, had a lunch, did a photo shoot, a jump in the pool and drinks and canapés in the afternoon, and an intimate family dinner in the evening. For dinner they had a 6 course meal, which was some of the finest Italian food I've ever tasted.
For me the most memorable part of the day was when they had canapés, drinks and danced during the blue hour, because the light was perfection and it was just so romantic and personal. They also had a couple of beautiful speeches during dinner – it was short and yet beautiful at the same time. They ended the day with a sparkler exit before heading back op the hill to their home for the week, Vidovina.
